Season's greetings to you as we enter the last month of 2021. First and foremost, thank you for your support over the last year.
What a year it has been as we had a vast range of unprecedented challenges with supply, a pandemic and, lock-downs whilst demand for building materials is off the charts.
For us, we have seen many firsts in 2021 as new staff have been welcomed to the team, they have been thrown into the fire, and have performed exceptionally well. We simply cannot do what we do, without a great team. Thank you to all our team.
As freedom is the largest desire in the city at the moment. What does the future hold? We have no idea but it will bring smiles for Christmas for many families as we fast approach our summer break. As life goes on, we all need to remember how fortunate we are to live in a paradise (even those of us who were locked up for so long).

Weather in Canada
An atmospheric flood-hit Canada in mid-November, this was the heaviest rain they have had since records started in 1870. The true impact on timber supply lines is yet to be defined.
Together with the B.C. Government in the move to reduce old-growth logging, we will see a few major impacts in the second half of 2022. Prices are already rocketing up and we will see more of this come early in 2022. Major roads and the port have just opened up again which is positive.

Weather in NSW
Not good news from NSW, Australia as the mid-north coast is flooded, this is not ideal for Weathertex production as state forests are closed and coal supplies halted due to the rainfall. Weathertex has opted to complete overdue maintenance next week therefore, everything is not bad. Once the ground drys out, production will be back into full swing. We hope this will not affect our supply, but time will tell.

Housing Consents Set Another New Record
How many houses can we build? that is the new question as a record number of plans appear to get rubber-stamped, as this is the 8th consecutive month with record numbers. The result is the supply chain will be pushed to find more and more materials to build them. Also, Do we have enough builders, plumbers, and electricians to put them all together? I guess we will find out in the upcoming year. Read more here
