It’s been an absolute pleasure working alongside South by Southeast Architecture on this project from April 2020 to November 2021.

Ken Powrie the Director of SSE is an avid surfer who is always looking for ways to give back to the community. Ken’s knowledge of equipment and the space required to make the surf club functional can really be seen in this project. Ken, Mark, and Scott listened and understood what it takes to run a community organization, designing an upstairs function room for hire with great views of Pegasus Bay.

Horizontal uncoated ITI Accoya weatherboards basically sitting in the sand dunes on New Brighton beach. Designed to offer the customer little to no maintenance for generations to come. Large uncoated Tricoya soffits extending from the roofline out towards the ocean gives you the feeling from inside that you’re standing on top of the waves.
This is a project where the performance and durability of Accoya and Tricoya really shines through, with a 50-year warranty against rot or decay, and excellent sustainability credentials, it is the ideal choice for an extreme coastal environment.
